I am defined by light’

Services

You don’t need a formal diagnosis to begin therapy. Whether you’re dealing with long-standing issues or recent challenges, therapy can help.

You don’t need a referral to see me. This allows for confidentiality without involving your GP or healthcare provider, if you choose not to, ensuring a truly personalised approach.

You may be struggling with a specific problem or simply feeling a sense of unease or confusion. The issues may arise from within—emotions, thoughts, and beliefs—or from your external world, such as difficulties in relationships, parenting, work, or major life transitions. Together, we can explore and navigate these concerns, developing a compassionate understanding to help you move forward with clarity and purpose.

I offer support for a wide range of challenges facing adults, including:

  • Depression: Feeling trapped in sadness or a sense of hopelessness that impacts your daily life.

  • Anxiety: Experiencing excessive worry, panic, or a constant sense of fear or unease.

  • Inter-relational Conflict: Struggling with communication, misunderstandings, or conflict in relationships, whether romantic, familial, or professional.

  • Low Self-Esteem: Struggling with self-worth, self-criticism, and a negative self-image.

  • Feelings of Overwhelm: Facing stress, pressure, or emotional exhaustion that makes it hard to cope with everyday demands.

  • Feeling Lost or Confused about Life’s Direction: Uncertainty about your purpose, goals, or where you're headed in life.

  • Disconnected from your career: Feeling puzzled or lost in your career, loss of motivation, questioning if your work choices are right for you.

  • Feelings of Isolation: A sense of being disconnected from others, possibly even when surrounded by people.

  • Parenting: Struggling to be the parent you imagined you would be, hitting new and emerging issues in your relationship with your child, feeling lost and unsure how to build your relationship together.

  • Grief and loss: experiencing sadness and grief over loss. This can be a loved person, a beloved pet or even a loss of a way of life through illness and other life circumstances.

  • Key Life Transitions: Navigating major life changes such as the approach to becoming a parent, returning to work, children leaving home, divorce or separation, retirement, the death of a loved one, or other significant transitions that can bring emotional complexity.

As a teenager you may be encountering issues in school that can feel overwhelming including:

  • Anxiety over study and exams: feeling like you are never going to achieve what you want or feeling pressured to achieve more than you are.

  • Bullying: feeling unsafe at school because of others behaviours and finding it a struggle to cope

  • Low self-esteem: not feeling as good as everyone else both in face to face world and in social media.

  • Overwhelm: not sure what you want to do or which direction to take your life after school and feeling like you are being left behind by your friends.

  • Struggling to make friends: feeling like you don’t fit in.

  • Worried about the future: leaving your family or your home town and earning money for yourself.

  • Grief and loss: struggling with the loss of someone you love or a beloved pet or worrying about losing someone you love.

Together, we can explore these areas and develop a deeper understanding of how they affect you. My goal is to support you in finding the relief and clarity you need to move forward with confidence and purpose.

I draw on evidence based humanistic practices of Person-Centred Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and Focused-Orientated Therapy. All of these focus on you as an individual and where you want to go. The emphasis is on working with your inner world and connecting your feelings and emotions back to your thinking self in order to explain and understand the impact on your day to day living and relationships.

Fees are $170 per session. It is important you feel comfortable with the process so I offer a reduction of $40 on the first 3 sessions to give you time to check this is a good fit for you.

At this stage I am not able to accept clients with Mental Health Treatment Plans. My fees are typically lower than others to compensate for the deficit. The advantage of not needing a Mental Health Treatment Plan to see me is that you will have confidentiality without involving your GP or healthcare provider if you choose not to. It also typically means you can be seen quicker.
